I would like to remind everyone about our Annual Membership Appreciation Dinner on Tuesday May 8th at 6 p.m. It will be held at the Golden Age Center in Jefferson Playground. Dinner will be prepared by the Officers and Advisory Board Members of the Suburban Terrace Civic Association.  The menu will include spaghetti and meatballs, Italian salad, peas, and garlic bread. For dessert we will feature bread pudding. We will also serve iced tea and soft drinks with the meal. We will also include some music to set the mood.

If you haven’t renewed your membership as of yet this would be a great time to do so. We will have personnel available to collect your membership slips and your membership dues at the meeting. If you forget your form additional ones will be available on sight for you to complete.

If your membership dues have not been renewed by the May 8th meeting you will not be included in the 2007 Membership Directory. This may also be your last newsletter until your dues are paid.

The Suburban Terrace Civic Association offers you and your family much value for your membership fee. Our fees are $10.00 a person or $20.00 per household.  We offer several family events for members including an annual membership appreciation dinner, Night Out Against Crime party, and Christmas party for members

As a group we help keep property values up, increase safety and family values in our neighborhood, rectify code violations and preserve the integrity of the neighborhood. We keep you informed on what is happening in our neighborhood and parish through our monthly newsletter and email reports. We think, and I hope you do to, that this association provides a good value for your membership fee. We try to make each meeting informative and present interesting guest speakers.

It is also important to have a majority of the residents as members to help influence the powers that be. By ensuring that our voice is united we help preserve the quality of life in our area for future generations to come. If you are not currently a member then please consider joining us and encourage your neighbors and friends to do so also.

For our July 10th meeting, I have asked Talisha Dunn Square, from the Huey P. Long Bridge Widening Project to be our guest speaker. She will inform us of the progress and future developments of this project and how it will affect both our area and the rest of Jefferson Parish.

I hope you will join us on May 8th. and enjoy a delicious meal and dessert. This is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors and make new friends. I hope to see and meet all of you then.

Thank you,

Kennith J. Lassalle
